On a hot, humid & breezy day in West Palm Beach, the Titans continued their 2014 40 over campaign with the semifinal game vs United SSC. The semi-final of the 2014 40 over campaign would be played at Gaines Park. United SSC won the toss and elected to bat first. With possible rain on the day, the Titans welcomed the decision to field first.

The regular opening pair of Krishna & Walt opened the bowling with effective spells. Both bowlers & fielders displayed their guile & desire with efficient & effective bowling throughout the first innings. At the end of the 1st 14 over break, Titans held the opposition to 49 runs with 3 wickets lost. Walt continued his efficient bowling ways with an 8 over on the trot spell taking 1 wicket and allowing only 25 runs. All Titan bowling options performed efficiently & as one of the umpires stated, our bowling started with the foot on the gas and never let off until the end of the inning. There were one or two dropped catches but the fielding contingent was solid as a whole. The fielding highlights including run-outs by Tanmay and Tiki/Krish. Overall, the bowling kept the opposition to under 4 runs an over. At the end of the 1st innings, Titans had to chase 152 runs to win the game. Titans CC Bowling details of the day are below:

Krish – 7 overs, 0 maidens, 25 runs, 1 wickets, 4 wides.
Walt- 8 overs, 0 maidens, 25 runs, 1 wickets, 2 wides.
Santosh - 8 overs, 0 maidens, 36 runs, 2 wickets, 4 wides.
Errol- 8 overs, 1 maiden, 25 runs, 2 wickets, 2 wides.
Tanmay- 6.4 overs, 0 maidens, 33 runs, 2 wickets, 4 wides.

Skipper Tiki & Chucky opened the batting with solid spells and scored 64 runs with no wicket lost at the 14 over break. It all went wrong after the 14 over break. The batting collapse occurred after the break with the entire side being bowled out for 122 runs in 37.4 overs. Titans CC lose the semifinal by 29 runs.

At the end of the 40 over season, Titans CC finish with an 8 win 5 loss record with an exit in the semifinal that should have easily ended in the opposite. This year has had very memorable moments with several new members & a new squad outlook. The future is full of promise & the team looks forward to that future.
