US Cricket Academy Gets An Education.
Paul Dharmendra Ramkissoon | Date 11/07/11
Titans summer school was in session as a short of players, demoralised US Cricket Academy unit that seemed to be going through the motions. The game was brief as USCA won the toss and elected to bat on a lively surface. Danny with the new ball gave a clinic as he ripped out 4-24 in his 7 overs and first change debutant DK kept the pressure on with 2-6 of his 4 overs. Atif wrapped things up and claimed the last two scalps...leaving Titans with only 94 needed for victory.
Chuck remained in good touch as he finished on 38* and was capably accompanied by Dalip and later Darren as Titans rolled to an easy win making 94/1 in 17 overs.
It is evident that the two academy teams in the league are clearly short on experience and perhaps the talent is not quite ready for the exposure that they are being given. They are learning every week, but what exactly are the benefits of constantly being in detention. That said another big win was notched up by the Titans as they trot on to 5-1 on the season and look ahead to a tough three game stretch to finish the season off.
